Thundershowers Likely in Several Areas After 2.00 p.m.

Intermittent rainfall is expected across the Northern, North Central, Eastern, and North Western Provinces, as well as in the Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The Department of Meteorology warns that heavy showers exceeding 50 mm may occur in certain areas of the Northern, North Central, and North Western Provinces, including parts of the Trincomalee District.

In other parts of the country, scattered showers or thundershowers are likely after around 2.00 p.m.

Early morning misty conditions may prevail in some locations within the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Western, North Central, Southern, and Uva Provinces.

The public is advised to take necessary safety precautions against potential hazards caused by temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers, according to the Department of Meteorology.
