The results of a survey conducted on the performance of SLPP Ministers based on the initiatives implemented by each Minister have been released.
Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Highways Minister Johnston Fernando and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Namal Rajapaksa have received the highest approval ratings.
The Ministry of Health has received the highest approval rating from the public for their contributions amidst a deadly pandemic.
The Ministry of Highways has been ranked second as the Ministry has implemented various projects, especially with regard to the development of rural roads and other infrastructure development initiatives.
In particular, the public has commended the Minister of Highways for initiating new projects such as repairing and reusing abandoned old equipment and vehicles that were previously used for road development, saving millions of rupees to state coffers in the process as well as paving the way for local contractors to get involved in road development projects which had previously been given to foreign companies.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Sports has come in third according to the survey. The successful completion of the Sri Lanka Premier League as well as a plethora of new measures aimed at improving the sports skills of youth countrywide have been major factors for the high approval rating of the ministry.
