Five Sri Lankan embassy staffers test positive for coronavirus

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been temporarily closed after five of its staff members tested positive for Covid-19, the ministry of foreign affairs announced.

Accordingly, the embassy will be closed on 21 and 22 of May. A statement by the embassy encouraged sending emails as much as possible during the closure but added that anyone that wishes to contact them can do so via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. The embassy noted that they will not be able to answer any calls right away due to the large volume of calls but assured that they will call back "within 24 hours."
