United National Party (UNP) Presidential candidate, Minister Sajith Premadasa has refrained from commenting on the appointment of a Prime Minister if he is elected as President.
The UNP has said that party leader, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will be appointed as the Prime Minister if Premadasa wins the election next month.
However, when questioned about it at a media briefing yesterday (1), Premadasa has refrained from commenting saying the election in November is not about selecting a Prime Minister or a new cabinet but a new President.
He has reiterated that he had not agreed to any conditions in order to be nominated as the Presidential candidate of the UNP or the UNP led United National Front (UNF).
