The special meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers that convened last evening has decided to appoint a sub committee to study the salary anomalies of public servants and submit a report on the matter.
Accordingly, the committee is expected to study and identify the issue of salary anomalies of public servants in different sectors and recommend ways and means to resolve the issues.
The committee comprises of Ministers Mangala Samaraweera, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Vajira Abeywardene, Dr Rajitha Senaratne, Arujna Ranatunga and State Minister Eran Wickramaratne.
The special Cabinet meeting was convened by President Maithripala Sirisena after a spate of strikes from various sectors was carried out during the last few days.
