A J M Muzammil was sworn in as the Governor of the Western Province a short while ago, the President's Media Division said.
The post of Governor fell vacant following the resignation of Azath Salley yesterday (Jun 04).
Muzammil was most recently the Chairman of the Central Environment Authority (CEA) and prior to that served as Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Malaysia.
He also previously served as the Mayor of the Colombo.
