Govt. raises Rs 120 billion through 2030, 2034, and 2037 bond auction

Sri Lanka successfully auctioned Rs. 120 billion in treasury bonds across three distinct maturities during its latest debt issuance.

The Public Debt Management Office released official figures detailing the allocation of long-term government securities maturing in 2030, 2034, and 2037.

The auction saw full allocation across all three offered tranches, with the longest-dated papers securing the highest returns for investors.

The largest allocation comprised Rs. 70 billion in bonds maturing on 1 August 2030, which settled at an average yield of 10.83 per cent.

A further Rs. 50 billion of debt maturing on 15 October 2034 was fully absorbed by the market at a higher average rate of 11.96 per cent.

The longest term offering, consisting of Rs. 30 billion in bonds set to mature on 1 July 2037, cleared at an average yield of 12.08 per cent.

Following the completion of the main auction, debt authorities confirmed that all three bond issues remain open for post-auction subscription on tap.
