who had decided to contest the upcoming general election under the Sajith Premadasa led Samagi Jana Balwegaya (SJB), UNP general secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said.
"We expelled these persons for seeking nominations from other parties and for not supporting the UNP during the ongoing election campaign. Some others will also be expelled in the coming days,” Kariyawasam said.
Furthermore, the UNP has also decided to expel 61 local government and provincial council members on the basis of not supporting the party during the current election campaign.
