President Donald Trump took to Truth Social immediately after the 2026 Grammy Awards to denounce the ceremony as “virtually unwatchable” and target host Trevor Noah following a joke about Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.
Noah, who hosted the telecast on CBS, referenced Trump while congratulating Billie Eilish for winning Song of the Year with “Wildflower.” “There you have it, song of the year! Congratulations, Billie Eilish. Wow. That’s a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton,” Noah quipped.
Trump fired back on Truth Social: “Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island. WRONG!!! I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media.”
The president escalated his response, calling Noah “a total loser” and hinting at legal action. “Better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast. It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless, dope of an M.C., and suing him for plenty. Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out. Also ask CBS! Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”
Trump’s post largely ignored the Grammys’ historic win for Bad Bunny, who took home Album of the Year for “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” the first Spanish-language LP to do so. The singer is set to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show later this month, a decision Trump has previously criticized, saying, “I’ve never heard of him… I don’t know who he is… It’s crazy.”
The Grammys, meanwhile, continue to make headlines for their landmark moments and performances, while President Trump’s public threats to a celebrity host add an unprecedented level of controversy to the evening.
