Sri Lankan President to Make Official Visit to Japan

At the invitation of the Japanese Government, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will make an Official Visit to Japan from September 27–30, 2025.

During the visit, he will meet His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and hold summit talks with the Japanese Prime Minister on matters of mutual interest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism announced.

The President will also speak at a Business Forum in Tokyo attended by leading Japanese companies and investors, focusing on new economic opportunities in Sri Lanka.

In addition, he will take part in “EXPO 2025 Osaka” as a Guest of the Government of Japan on the occasion of Sri Lanka Day, showcasing the country’s culture and economic potential to a global audience.

He is also expected to meet with members of the Sri Lankan community living in Japan.

President Dissanayake will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath and other senior officials.

According to the Ministry, the visit will help strengthen and deepen the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Japan.
