The Department of Meteorology has announced that intermittent showers or thundershowers may occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northern, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara Districts. It further stated that certain areas are likely to experience heavy rainfall of approximately 75 mm.
In other regions, showers or thundershowers may develop in scattered places, particularly after around 1.00 p.m.
The Department of Meteorology has also urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks posed by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
