Deputy Minister Sunil Watagala told Parliament today that stocks of tear gas held by the police have expired due to non-use.
He also stated that any group was free to organise protests against the government and that members of the public had the right to criticise the government.
"Any group is allowed to stage protests against the government. Likewise, anyone is free to criticise the government," he said.
