Former Krrish Group Executive Director and business personality Janaki Siriwardena has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over an alleged Rs. 70 million bribe involving MP Namal Rajapaksa.
Siriwardena was arrested this morning (24) by officers attached to CIABOC’s Special Investigation Unit.
According to the allegation, the Rs. 70 million was provided to Rajapaksa on three separate occasions.
The alleged payments are linked to efforts to obtain a property in Colombo Fort owned by the Urban Development Authority (UDA) for Krrish Transworks Colombo (Pvt) Ltd.
It is further alleged that the payments were made in return for assistance in securing the property and facilitating the necessary approvals for the project.
Siriwardena is now facing investigation by CIABOC in connection with the alleged bribery transactions.
