Another suspect has been arrested in connection with the assault of three Chinese nationals at the Colombo Port City premises and the subsequent abduction and murder of one of them.
The incident took place on July 23, 2026, following a clash between two groups of Chinese nationals at the Colombo Port City premises.
During the incident, one Chinese national was reportedly abducted and later killed. His body was subsequently found in Eheliyagoda.
Based on information received by investigating officers, a suspect wanted in connection with the incident was arrested yesterday (04) at the Colombo Port City premises.
Police identified the suspect as a 54-year-old Chinese national.
The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) is conducting further investigations into the incident.
