Former Ceylon Fisheries Corporation Chairman Arrested by CIABOC 

Former Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation (CFC) Maheel Senaratne has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The arrest relates to allegations that proper procurement procedures were not followed in connection with the establishment and maintenance of fish sales centres across the country.

Senaratne served as Chairman of the Ceylon Fisheries Corporation from 2010 to 2012.

He is also the brother of former Fisheries Minister Rajitha Senaratne.

CIABOC is investigating the alleged irregularities concerning the procurement procedures linked to the fish sales centres.
