A 34-year-old man has been arrested in the Anamaduwa Police Division over the alleged dissemination of nude photographs and video footage of a woman through WhatsApp, police said.
The arrest was carried out yesterday morning (13) by officers attached to the Wariyapola Computer Crime Investigation Division, following a complaint made by the woman regarding the alleged distribution of the material.
Police identified the suspect as a resident of the Mampuriya area.
Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Wariyapola Computer Crime Investigation Division.
