Train services along the Kelani Valley railway line will face temporary restrictions on August 1 due to essential repair work being carried out at the Nawala–Narahenpita railway crossing, the Department of Railways announced.
The Department said the Nawala–Narahenpita road railway crossing, located between Narahenpita and Nugegoda railway stations, will undergo urgent renovation work, requiring temporary changes to train operations.
Accordingly, train services operating between Colombo Fort and Nugegoda railway stations on the Kelani Valley line will be suspended from 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on August 1.
The Department has also issued revised schedules for trains operating on the Kelani Valley line on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Passengers have been requested to be aware of the temporary changes and make alternative travel arrangements where necessary.
