Skin diseases are becoming an increasingly serious public health concern, with a noticeable rise in the number of people seeking medical treatment for skin-related conditions, according to dermatology specialists.
Consultant Dermatologist Dr. Nayani Madarasinghe said there has been a significant increase in patients visiting dermatology clinics for various skin diseases.
She made the remarks during a media briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau.
Dr. Madarasinghe noted that the growing number of patients requiring dermatological care reflects the increasing burden of skin diseases on the country's public health system. She emphasized that the trend highlights the need for greater attention to skin health as the number of affected individuals continues to rise.
