The Department for Registration of Persons has announced the full resumption of National Identity Card (NIC) issuance services from today, April 20, following the restoration of its computer system.
According to the Department, all public services related to NICs, including the widely used one-day service, are once again fully operational.
The services had been temporarily suspended from April 17 after a sudden breakdown in the Department’s computer system disrupted routine operations and caused inconvenience to the public.
Officials confirmed that the necessary technical repairs and system rectifications have now been successfully completed, allowing all previously affected services to be restored.
With the system back online, members of the public can now resume accessing NIC-related services without interruption. The Department stated that all counters and service points will function as normal from today.
