A large cache of heroin and crystal methamphetamine, believed to be connected to an organized large-scale drug trafficking network, has been seized during a police raid in Ganemulla.
The operation, carried out by the Western Province North Crime Division based on received intelligence, led to the arrest of a 40-year-old resident of Ganemulla.
During the raid, officers discovered 9 kilograms and 946 grams of heroin along with 12 kilograms and 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as Ice.
Police also confiscated a motorcycle, weighing equipment, and a money-counting machine believed to have been used in the illegal narcotics operation.
Investigators stated that preliminary findings indicate the seized drugs belong to an organized criminal currently overseas and in custody.
Further investigations into the case are continuing under the Western Province North Crime Division.
